- Are Flavia and Joao from Too Hot to Handle together now?
Can they bounce back from *THAT* serenade?
If you watched Too Hot to Handle season six right up until the final episode – which obviously you did, because why wouldn't you? – then you will know that Flavia and Joao did not make it to the end as a couple.
The pair broke up just ahead of the finale, which saw Bri and Demari crowned the winners and Katherine and Charlie in second place.
Fans who were shipping the pair will, naturally, be heartbroken. Since her lacklustre date with Jordan on her first night, Flavia and Joao were pretty much locked into a steady relationship. It was the stuff endgame dreams are made of.
So what happened between the pair, and did they reconcile off air? Here's everything we know about Flavia and Joao's relationship status.
What happened between Flavia and Joao on Too Hot to Handle?
As mentioned above, Flavia and Joao were rock solid – that was until the chiselled grenade Jalen arrived on the scene. He was sent there to test Bri's resolve to stay committed to Demari but ended up being a distraction for Flavia.
After Bri rebuffed Jalen's advances, he set his sights on Flavia, who was momentarily swayed.
While they didn't break any of Lana's rules, there were conversations between the pair that caused Flavia to question her feelings for Joao and whether she wanted to continue a relationship with him.
It took one of Lana's famed workshops to sort Flavia's head out, during which she realised she was self-sabotaging by running away from a good thing with Joao.
She was honest with Joao about her internal conflicts and the realisation she'd made about wanting to make it work with him, but this left Joao feeling insecure.
He had doubts that they could make a relationship work in the real world if her head was able to be so easily turned in the retreat.
Ultimately, he decided to call time on their relationship and broke the news to Flavia during their date with a break-up song… yeah, we questioned that move too. This caused tension between the pair, which they later resolved after he apologised for not considering how his anti-romantic serenade would make Flavia feel.
The pair ended things on a good note and decided to be friends – but after all that passion and intimacy can it really be over?
Are Flavia and Joao from Too Hot to Handle together now?
The answer to that question is... we don't know! Neither has spoken out about since the finale dropped on Friday (August 2) – but to be fair, it is still early days yet.
Anyone who's shipping the pair can take comfort from the fact that Flavia and Joao are still in communication, at least to some degree.
On August 1, the pair collaborated on an Instagram post and Flavia commented on Joao's post the following day.
To a short montage of his time at the retreat, Flavia replied: "Hahahaha lyyyy amore," so at the very least they're still on good terms.
We'll keep you updated the moment we know more.
Too Hot to Handle seasons 1-6 are available to stream now on Netflix.
