The track northeastern state of Para is one of the oldest regions of human occupation in the Brazilian Amazon consists of areas with marked degree of human disturbance. In this context the use of satellite images becomes an important tool to classify areas, thereby controlling deforestation. The scenes Landsat/TM-5 were obtained from orbit/point 223/61, 13/07/2008 and 04/09/2004 passages were used bands 3, 4 and 5, After classification of these images by PDI software , it was found that there was a reduction of 5.24% of the vegetated area, somewhere around 23.6243 km ², in the time interval from 2004 to 2008.Pages: 5194-520

R E S U M O Este artigo tem como objetivo mapear o uso e ocupação do solo no município de Belém de São Francisco, localizado na mesorregião do São Francisco, Pernambuco, na porção semiárida do nordeste brasileiro. Foram utilizadas ferramentas de Sistemas de Informações Geográficas (SIGs) e técnicas de sensoriamento remoto. Foi realizada uma classificação não-supervisionada do uso e ocupação do solo, onde foi feita a identificação de quatro temas: corpos d’água, vegetação densa, vegetação rasteira e solo exposto/área urbana, nos diferentes anos de 1985 e 2010. As imagens utilizadas foram do sensor Landsat 5 TM, coletadas no acervo de imagens do INPE. Os mapas foram elaborados no software ArcGIS 10.1, utilizando o sistema de coordenadas Sirgas2000, no fuso 24S. The environment, beyond its naturally progresses, is suffering constants changes caused by the humanity. In Brazil, those activities are licensed by IBAMA, Estates and municipal districts. The environmental licensing aims control the expansion and operation of the activities that modify the environment. This paper describes the organization of a municipal geographical database, formed by different georrefered information plans. The current database was implemented in the city of Encantado, located at northeast of Rio Grande do Sul state in Brazil. The geographical database contributes to do environmental diagnosis and may assist the municipality to planning and manage its territory. At the end, the geographical database will help in the work of municipal environmental licensing. Identificação do fenômeno de ilhas de calor urbano em Belo Horizonte – MG

The advancement of technology has propelled the growth of population and urban centers in an accelerated turning space and consequently reducing the vegetation cover. This uncontrolled growth causes problems related to thermal comfort, as the formation of heat islands. Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais, is one of the largest cities in Brazil and had a sudden and rapid growth, reaching 1 million people after 70 years of its foundation. Thus, remote sensing has been applied to identify increases in surface temperature and behavior of net radiation in urban areas due to the removal the vegetation cover in the city of Belo Horizonte – MG, using satellite / sensor imagery Landsat-5 / TM for three different years: 1985, 1995 and 2008. Maps were produced as a result of classification of land use, surface temperature and net radiation, and tables of numerical quantification. Increase was seen in the urbanized area and reduced vegetation cover. As a result was also observed increase in surface temperature, indicating possible heat islands in some areas of the city, especially the south-central region, where largest urban expansion area was identified, and through the net radiation was possible to analyze the thermal behavior of the targets.
