Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague is heartbreakingly coming to terms with her sudden split from her fiancé Tommy Fury while her sister Zoe is on her honeymoon abroad
Molly-Mae Hague has millions of loyal supports sending her love online, but just a few loved ones rallying around her at home.
The adored influencer announced yesterday that she had split from her fiancé, boxer Tommy Fury, in a shock statement on Instagram. The showbiz couple, who are parents to one-year-old daughter Bambi and live in a plush Manchester pad, met in the Love Island villa in 2019 and got engaged on a romantic clifftop in Ibiza last year.
Devastated Molly wrote on her post: "After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way. I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy's relationship has come to an end." Meanwhile, Tommy said that he had been left 'heartbroken' by their separation and he will "forever be grateful to Molly" for making him a dad.
Their sudden split comes as Molly's big sister Zoe Rae is on her honeymoon with husband Danny Rae, after tying the knot on July 6 in the Lake District. Molly attended the beautiful ceremony with Tommy and their baby girl Bambi, and celebrated their own five-year anniversary the same weekend. She wrote on Instagram: "Half a decade of us @tommyfury. The most love filled weekend."
Zoe and Danny arrived in the Dolomites, in Italy, for the first half of their honeymoon last week and are now believed to be in Greece for a relaxing end to their trip. Zoe, who also shares her life on YouTube and Instagram, has not posted on social media in the last 48 hours. The sisters are very close, and last year, Zoe made the move to Manchester to be closer to Molly and niece.
Molly's fans have shared their heartbreak for her online and expressed how much more difficult the break-up must be without Zoe at home. One TikToker posted: "Can we all just deep the fact Molly-Mae is currently going through the worst heartbreak there is. AND her sister is now there to comfort her. She is on her honeymoon. This is how you know this was a sudden break-up."
They continued: "Imagine not being about to be with your sister whilst going through this. And Zoe trying to enjoy her honeymoon whilst she knows at home Molly is going through the worst right now. If you have a sister you know this would be your worst nightmare." Another user commented: "She literally won't be able to enjoy herself on her honeymoon now she'll feel so bad."
As well as her sister being away, Molly's mum doesn't live nearby. Her mum Debbie Gordon, who tied the knot with Molly's step-dad Jon Rayner three years ago, lives in Hertfordshire, around three hours away. She often travels up north to spend time with granddaughter Bambi.
Thankfully, Molly is said to have her close friend, Anouska Santos, who is dating Manchester United and England footballer Luke Shaw, for support at home. According to The Sun, Anouska was with Molly when she released the news of her split. A source told the publication: "Anouska is like a rock for Molly and she was there with her today when she pressed post on her split statement. Molly wanted a steady hand by her side and Anouska has been a great support to her."
Aside from Anouska, Molly is close with influencer Tayla-Blue and her manager, Francesca Britton. She has a small group of friends, and previously spoke about her decision to condense her circle. Speaking to Steven Bartlett on his podcast in 2021, she said: "I've never needed lots of friends. People pick up on that about me really quickly. They just say, 'God, your circle's so small'. I'm a bit of a loner but I like it."
More recently, Molly opened up about 'solo parenting' and how she was coping with Bambi by herself for a period as Tommy was busy recording his audiobook. In a vlog on YouTube, she said: "I have been solo parenting pretty much the entire week. Actually, I've been solo parenting for like, two weeks now, basically because Tommy's just been so busy.
"When he's home from doing work and stuff, he's so incredible and so helpful. I can't say any different, like, he's such an incredible dad, but I have been this week, like, just really... mum life has been mum life-ing." She went on to discuss her new struggles in motherhood and said: "I feel like we're going through a little bit of a challenging phase. Not only with Bambi, but also just with me and trying to juggle a lot."
